First Financial Facebook campaign to aid 4 Habitat chapters

First Financial Bank has pledged a $1 donation to each of four Habitat for Humanity chapters – with a cap of $8,000 – for each new "like" on the bank's Facebook page.

The campaign, which lasts through Jan. 3, will benefit the Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis, and Northwest Indiana chapters. As of yesterday morning, the campaign already has raised more than $2,000.

Headquartered in Downtown Cincinnati, First Financial Bank operates 122 banking centers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

"At First Financial, we're committed to giving back to the communities we serve and this Facebook campaign is a fun way for the entire community to get involved," said Jill Wyman, First Financial's executive vice president and co-chief retail banking officer, in a prepared release. "Together, we can help give the gift of home ownership this holiday season."

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, a merger of Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity and Tri-State Habitat for Humanity that goes into effect Jan. 1, will have an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million.

"If we can encourage individuals to use social media for social good and to increase community engagement, we all stand to gain," said Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati Vice President of Operations Dawn Stutz. "Our vision at Habitat for Humanity is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We also envision how, when put to good use, technology can make this world a truly better place."
