Cause of death: This home was originally owned by Dr. David Dahlman, who was one of the original challengers in the Rookwood Exchange eminent domain battle. A couple of years ago he proposed a 3,500-square-foot office building for the site. The zoning was changed, but he later sold the property to Sylvia Rombis of the Malton Gallery in Hyde Park. As recently as June, she was presenting a proposal to the Oakley Community Council to construct a new building and move her gallery there.
