"Design Home 2008" slated for Vintage Club

Cincinnati Magazine's inaugural "Design Home 2008" will be built at the Vintage Club in Montgomery.

The magazine will partner with Great Traditions Homes to build the concept home, which will explore new ideas in building - including green and sustainable techniques.

Designed to seek U.S. Green Building Council LEED "silver" certification, the concept home will feature an internal geothermal system, Energy Star appliances, local building products and indigenous plants.

The house is scheduled to be completed by September, with public tours lasting through mid-October. Cincinnati Magazine will also publish a special section in October.

The $150 million, 70-acre Vintage Club, which is being developed by Great Traditions Land and Development Company (BIRD'S EYE), is envisioned as a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood of over 200 residential units and 150,000 square feet of commercial space arranged around a village green.

Ten homes within the development were part of last year's Homearama Luxury Edition.
