Kenwood Towne Place photo update, 4/9/09

Construction on Kenwood Towne Place, a development located that is supposed to include 300,000 square feet of office space and 285,000 square feet of retail space, is....

The $175 million project, being built by Bear Creek Capital, DOV Limited and Neyer Holdings Corp., currently contains a Kroger Fresh Fare, Crate & Barrel, and Container Store.

Ethan Allen, Mitchell's Salon and Day Spa, and LA Fitness are scheduled to open this year.

Borders is re-evaluating plans to occupy retail space, and only one tenant, UBS Financial Services, has filed a letter of intent to occupy 32,000 square feet of office space in the eight-story tower.

To date, $54 million in liens have been filed against the project for contractor non-payment.

In late April, contractor Architectural Glass & Metal Co., Inc. hauled away $2.5 million in glass curtainwall from the construction site.

It's unfortunate that the commercial tenants of this building are having to go through this. The project seems to be nice enough and would seem to be incredibly successful given its location, but it's the developer that lost their way with other projects and lost their money. What a shame.
