Wrecking Cincinnati, 7/8/09

Single-family
DOB: 1910
Died: May 2009
Cause of death: Holes in the ceilings and walls, broken and missing windows, a rotten cornice, exposed electrical wiring, and siding that was pulling away from the building. The house required numerous City visits to barricade its many openings to keep out trespassers and vermin.

The City condemned the property in January 2007. An out-of-town investor (possibly a bank), picked up the house through a foreclosure auction in 2007 for $3,850.

It was declared a public nuisance in November 2008 and razed by the City following asbestos abatement.

A criminal case was filed, although it is unclear if it is the prior owners or the investors who are serving as defendants.
