CDBG funds could be used for fourth phase of Gateway Quarter

Cincinnati City Council is considering an ordinance that would establish a $960,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project account to help fund the fourth phase of the Gateway Quarter project in Over-the-Rhine.

The project, to be developed by NorthPointe Group and B2B Equities, will include 32 market-rate rental units, 14,625 square feet of commercial space, and a 30 space parking lot in the buildings at .

The funding would be transferred from four existing CDBG project accounts and would be used to bring the buildings up to code before construction of the residential and commercial units begins.

In addition to the CDBG funds, $3 million in tax increment financing (TIF) district funds are being channeled into the project.

Where will they fit 30 parking spaces? On Republic Street?

I sure hope the fabulous tiny two and a half story, two window wide building in this grouping currently painted brick red can be restored.
If the facade and roof of this little building can not be fully restored considering how small it is, including the fire damage to the dormers then it will confirm that generally the "rebirth" of OTR is being done by a bunch of know nothings. Anyone can use paint and replacement windows. Put some effort into it like the forefathers did. The front of this place is not that big! (we're just talking exterior here). Turn it into a shinning example of what can be done - we're longing to buy some sun glasses.

CityKin...I have no earthly idea. There are a couple of empty lots on Republic. Don't know how convenient that would be, though.
